She’s the author of three books, the national best-seller Hands Off My Gun: Defeating the Plot to Disarm America which turned the tide in the gun control debate; Flyover Nation: You Can’t Run a Country You’ve Never Been to, which predicted the coastal-flyover divide and sentiment that decided the 2016 election; and Grace Canceled detailing the country’s cancel culture and denial of redemption. She began her career as an award-winning newspaper columnist in her hometown of St. Louis before moving to radio during the 2008 elections.

Dana appears regularly on television news and has provided election analysis/commentary for Fox, ABC, CNN, and HBO.

A Second Amendment advocate for well over a decade, Dana is one of the nation’s premier voices for gun rights, having represented gun owners on CNN’s infamous town hall on gun control in the wake of the Parkland tragedy. She was credited with adding nearly a million members to the National Rifle Association during her year-long association with the group.

A Christian, wife, mother, dog lover, and former goth kid, when Dana isn’t behind the mic, camera, or traveling around the country on behalf of various issues, she enjoys playing video games, anime, reading historical biographies, visiting the range, baking, crochet, and dark wave music.

A fifth-generation Texan, husband, father of five, grandfather of twelve, courageous MAGA Republican, and self-made businessman, Don Huffines will bring a private-sector mindset to the Comptroller’s office. Guided by his deep Texas roots and commitment to faith, family, and freedom, Don has spent his life fighting to protect taxpayers and advancing conservative values. As a State Senator, Huffines never took a penny of government money – no pay, no pension, no healthcare, no per diem. And just like President Trump, Huffines will not take a salary as Comptroller because, as he often says, “I work for the people, not the government.” His tenure is best remembered for his fearless fight against government corruption. He uncovered the largest government corruption scandal in modern Texas history, a $100 million agency stealing millions in taxpayer funds. Despite $1.3 million in lobbyist pressure to block his investigation, Don persisted. His work resulted in six officials going to prison and the agency being shut down overnight, saving Texans tens of millions of dollars.
